Ariel Gail
Professor Gail S. Goodman has been a distinguished psychologist since 1993. She is also the director for the Center for Public Policy Research, University of California Davis. She is widely known for starting modern scientific studies of children's memory as eyewitnesses and the use of child victims in court contexts. Professor Goodman has published extensively, received many grants and has been awarded numerous national and international prizes. She has consulted with various governments and agencies across the world on policies and research on children's victimization within the court system. She currently serves as advisor to the Special Assault Forensic Evaluation Center located at Sacramento County Child Protective Services (formerly Multidisciplinary Interview Center). She has memberships with numerous professional associations, including the Association for Psychological Science and American Psychological Association. She is a founding member of the American Professional Society for the Abuse of Children, the Psychonomics Society Society for Research in Child Development and the International Society for Traumatic Stress Studies. Professor Goodman has been the president of three divisions (Division Society for Child and Family Policy as well as Practice Division of the American Psychological Law Society and Division Developmental Psychology) and one Section (Child Maltreatment) of the American Psychological Association.
